Amedama Overview:

In this side-scrolling, soul-shifting action adventure, Yushin has fallen on hard times one could say. When the young boy is killed by Oshimi’s hand at the rooftop in front of his little sister Yui, only a soul is left to comeback. Now we see him as a man who has to travel through a mystical world by transferring his soul into the bodies of various characters for the sole aim of rescuing her. Yushin starts to plan immediately since he only has only seven days left for his soul on earth, and she is still in danger.

The only hope for the character’s survival in this game is that he is able to possess others, people and creatures. In taking control of their bodies, he acquires new weapons, stunts, and moves or in other words, powers. This provide him with new view toward the enemies that he is facing, and the type of hardship that he faces continue to evolve around as he transforms through the various bodies.

Sincerely embedded in the art of the 19th-century Japan, the game’s plot takes place in the rainy atmosphere and is drawn in the Pixel Art style. It is then dark and beautiful at the same time and based on the town of Aihama where Yushin meets the rain, revenge and reincarnation.

The things Yushin does and wants are not only the saves of sister’s life but also the choices in between events. Because he lives through seven days over and over again, each of his actions has consequences for the plot of the movie. That is the stream, including to whom he says words that he utters and how he may come across the world around him determines the ending of his travel.
