Bakeru Overview:

Bakeru’s entertainment provided is the start of adventure in an action game in a world with aspects of Japan. This game is focused on Oracle Saitaro and his Festival Troops where the latter aim at capturing Japan using a peculiar festival. To prevent them, Bakeru has to visit all the areas of Japan: 47 of them, and fight with the minions of evil spirits that conquered the country he lives in.

The environment is also a combination of the contemporary Japanese and a popular period of Japanese drama, the ‘Fairy Tale Japan’ and it is full filled by more than 50 stages of an action. Every level can be quite thrilling while having a few difficulties when it is necessary to battle it out in this fabulous adaptation of the country.

As for Bakeru’s weapon, which is a drum that is known to be a part of the Tanuki Clan’s heirlooms. It is said that this drum can exterminate evil spirits; with rather limited controls, you’ll defeat your adversaries and obstacles such as different traps on your way.

It’s very engaging that Bakeru can turn into legendary heroes of Japan and it is very creative. When Bakeru gets a “Henge License” he can transform into various heroes including Kintaro and Momotaro where each figure comes with his special moves which would help defeat the evil forces.

The Steam version comes even with more, new attacks such as Hurricane, spinning top, and combination with both. These new abilities extend the a functionality of the fights deepening them and making the battles even more diverse. Also, in the latest update, a new enemy known as the Lantern Boss has been brought in as a new addition to the game.
