How We Die Overview:

How We Die is a deck building game with rogue like elements that offers a spin with the feel of a board game and tabletop role playing game (TRPG). Usually, the outcomes of the game depend on the dice rolls and probabilities but in this game it appears that all possibilities are in your hand and one can master the strategy used in each round of the game.

The settings of the story involve two characters, Hic and Illec, who complete a TRPG scenario in which they alien summoning. The next morning they wake up from their beds only getting to know that an actual alien invasion is in progress. Their game master, Is, leaves them a mysterious message: ‘Catch me if you can’ he said after messing around by saying ‘come to my home. ’ It directs them to another message which takes them on a search for what actually is happening.

Throughout the game you’ll have to collect helpful utilities for your character to stand a chance in a fight. You will not be able to proceed with only the basics as actions so you will fight foes and gather different tools. Every single tool that you gather for your use will assist you in some way and it’s useful to choose the way you use them properly.

One of the aspects in the game that can be considered as quite interesting is the fact that tools are usable infinitely many times if only the conditions are met. This will enable you to link some nice chains together that will yield good amounts of hits and allow you to overcome your opponents.
