In Tales of Kenzera™: ZAU, you are invited to master the archaic dance of the shaman and go on the search to bring back the spirit of the father. As the name suggests this is a metroidvania styled indie game where you play as a wanderer in the dangerous but stunning world of Kenzera, guided by the God of Death from the Surgent Studios.

The plot of childhood begins with the death of the father and a boy who is grieving for him. Taking a Bantu tale that his late father left for him, you play the role of Zau, a young shaman who is committed to doing whatever it takes to get his father Baba from the darkness. Zau makes a bet with the God of Death, laying the background to cosmic as well as unknown boldness.

As Zau, you travel to the mysterious and mythological more specifically in Kenzera. It turns what was once a lively and colorful place to one filled with spirits of the ancestors who are already forgotten by the world and asks you to solve puzzles in this dark world. Every move is a step towards bringing down the curtain and the building of the new world, but also the step which takes you to the dark and the deep, where the primal forces and the evil are waiting.

The section of land referred as Kenzera is as beautiful as it is dangerous it can be argued. In the process of Zau’s development, he meets three powerful characters who have great muscle power and seem to know him. These are the forces in opposition; they are the challenges in Zau’s way, they are the enigmas that compel the man to suffer through the dance of the true shaman.

In the course of the trip, Zau learns and realizes his link to his forefathers as well as the earth. Besides, there are quite affective elements as the spirits and feelings – the attempts to reveal the secrets of Kenzera and the true identities of the enemies.
