Young Hearts Overview:

Young Hearts is a visual novel that mixes romance and everyday life. You play as Maxim Anisimov, a freshman who goes to the southern town of Yuzhnogorsk to find his lost childhood friends. The town is sunny and full of secrets, like the local graffiti artist and the missing pianist. But it’s also a summery place where Maxim might find love.

The game starts with a demo that shows you the beginning of the story and the characters you’ll meet. The whole story has a prologue and four parts, each one about a special woman in Maxim’s life. The choices you make will affect their stories and how their relationships with Maxim develop.

Right now, there are two stories available and two more coming in a future update. The first story is about Forte, Maxim’s classmate who also just moved to Yuzhnogorsk. She’s happy and energetic, but she has a mysterious past she doesn’t want to talk about. Her story is called “Youth-Adolescence Beyond the Northern Snow” and it’s 4-6 hours long with multiple endings.

The other story is about Kathrin Richter, a German exchange student and aspiring writer. She’s quiet and likes to be alone, but she used to have close friends. Her story is called “The Black Hearts Ocean” and it’s 6-9 hours long with multiple endings too.

The a game is also adding more stories! You’ll get to meet Nika a gifted pianist who’s special to Maxim. There’s also Dasha an artist who knew Maxim way back when they were kids. These new stories will reveal more about the town’s history especially its theater and jazz sides. You might even finally learn what happened to Maxims missing friends.

Be aware that Young Hearts deals with mature themes. Some characters drink too much, think about committing minor crimes, or even consider hurting themselves or ending their lives. If you are bothered by these things, be careful when playing this game. But if you want a visual novel with romance, mystery, and the joy of being young, Young Hearts will be a great choice.
